James E. “Jim” Perry, age 63, of Vinton passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 23, 2019 at his home. He was born May 21, 1956 in Oak Hill to Verna A. (Farley) Perry and the late Eugene “Pap” Perry.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, James Ray (Samantha) Perry, Misty Dawn DeBoard, Ashley N. Perry (Ronald J. Johnson), Billy Joe Perry; grandchildren, Taylor Perry, Danielle Perry, Hallie Perry, Ruby Lynn DeBoard, Rayley Dawn Adkins, Madison Elizabeth Adkins, Trenten Joseph Johnson, Savannah Grace Johnson, Sierra Jade Johnson and Hannah Jo Perry. He is also survived by his brothers, Lloyd, Carl, Chuck, Elliott and Ray Perry.

He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene “Pap” Perry.

Jim enjoyed farming, he loved his animals and taking care of them. He was a simple man. He loved his children and his grandchildren.

Friends may call Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from 11-1 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 with Pastor Burton Neace officiating. Burial will follow in Pattonsville Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
