Tonya Sturgill, age 65, of Jackson Ohio, was called home to be with the Lord and savior on Thursday, October 15, 2026. She was born on January 2, 1961, in Gallipolis, Ohio, and spent her life building lasting memories, loving her family, and bringing laughter and joy to those fortunate enough to know her.
Tonya attended Jackson High School and later worked at Parkview, where she dedicated her time to caring for the children around her.
Above all else, Tonya cherished her family. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, making memories with those closest to her, and caring for her beloved dog, Percy, who held a special place in her heart. Tonya was a kind and caring woman with a personality that was impossible to forget. She was outspoken, stubborn in the most unforgettable way, and was never afraid to voice her opinion. She was full of life, laughter, and spirit, with a remarkable ability to bring a smile to someone’s face even on the hardest of days. Her warmth, humor, and unmistakable personality made her truly one of a kind. She had a way of making life a little brighter for the people around her, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Tonya is survived by her husband, Chris Sturgill; her children, Justin (Laura) Euton, Alisha (LJ) McKenzie, Tabitha (Jeremy) Kitchen, Chris Sturgill Jr., Kristi (Darren) Kallner, Cortney (Aaron) Butcher, and Derik Sturgill. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Harper Euton, Rylee Curtis, DeCota and Jaxon McKenzie, Connor Bentley, Madison and Jake Stepp, Paizlyn Kitchen, Gracey Spradlin, Dayton and Nate Kallner, Brodie, Lexi and Izzy Butcher, Breleigh and Dallis Sturgill; and of course, her fur baby, Percy.
Tonya was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Cecil Gussler, whom she carried in her heart.
Though Tonya’s time here has come to an end, the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the memories she created will continue to live on through her family and friends who loved her. She was the best nana. Her story does not end with goodbye, but continues in the hearts of everyone who was blessed to know her.
Graveside burial services will be private. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
