James Earl McCarty, age 64, of Vinton, passed away Monday, July 15, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on September 1, 1954 to the late Bessie (Wheeler) and Jaroy McCarty.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Bentley McCarty; sister, Jean Floyd; daughter, Jessica McCarty; and sons, Jason McCarty and Sean McCarty.

He is survived by his wife, Jane (Cupp) McCarty, of Vinton; brother, Willis McCarty; and grandsons, Dustin and Devyn McCarty and Dale Ohm III and Sean Ohm. Also surviving is his sister-in-law, Renee Cupp and many friends and other relatives.

James was a loving father and grandfather. He loved the outdoors, mainly hunting and fishing. He will be missed by all who knew him.
