Betty Kathryn Settles

Betty Katherine Settles, age 96, passed away on November 4, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, warmth, and deep devotion to her family. Born on January 9, 1930, she lived a full life and retired from the VA in Lafayette, Indiana.

Betty was an amazing woman who loved her children and family like no other, and in her leisure time, she enjoyed visiting the casino. Whether sharing a warm smile or a great conversation with anyone who came to visit, she touched the lives of those around her and will be sadly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Finley and her grandsons, Jamie Humphreys (Magda) and Andrew Humphreys.

Betty was preceded in death by her late husbands, Harold Phillips and Lowell Settles; her daughter, Sally Humphreys; her son, Wendell Phillips; and her son-in-law, Charley Finley.

A graveside service under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill will be held for Betty on Monday, November 9, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Bethel Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
