Michael David Woolum

Michael David Woolum, age 61, of Thurman, Ohio, passed away on November 4, 2026, in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mike was born on May 8, 1965. He spent 44 years as a Dozer Heavy Equipment Operator with 24 years being in the Local Union 18, which he retired from in October of 2025.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Opal Woolum; his father, Oscar (Wally) Woolum; his grandson, Lucas Gilbert; his beloved dog, Trotter; his brother, Dean Woolum; and his father-in-law, Cecil (Junior) Miller.

Mike is survived by his wife of 41 years, Angie; his children Jennifer Woolum (John), Stephanie (Dustin) Gilbert, Michael (Cheyenne) Woolum, beloved dog Lilly; his grandkids Greyden, Chevy, Cameron, Ellie and Nova; his sibling Brenda Hanks and Sue Brunton; and his mother-in-law Connie Miller.

Mike will be remembered for his kindness, and love for his family. His laughter and wisdom were gifts to everyone who knew him. His family meant everything to him. He was a husband, a dad, a grandpa, and so much more to the people who loved him. He cherished the moments spent together, the laughter, the memories, and the little things that made life special.
