Roger Dale Evans, age 80, of Oak Hill went to be with the Lord Monday, June 3, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born July 16, 1938 in Jackson to the late Redfern and Sarah Doris (Mapes) Evans.

Roger was a graduate of Jackson High School class of 1956. He served four years in the United States Airforce. He worked 43 years at Plibrico. Roger was a charter member and the first of three generations of Deacons at Liberty Baptist Church along with his son and grandson. He was an avid sports fan, he loved to golf and had a contagious laugh.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor (Slater) Evans, of Oak Hill; children, Patti (Alan) Saunders, David (Shirley) Evans, and the late Sheri Mustain Sandera; grandchildren, Jeremy (Emary) Mustain, Nathan (Kelly) Saunders, Bethany Saunders Deering, Nicole (Corey) Ruby, Michael Evans and Derek Sandera; great grandchildren, Luke Saunders, Logan Saunders, Leah Saunders, Alissa Mustain, Mason Ruby and Parker Ruby. He is also survived by his siblings, Judy (Larry) Zornes, Randy (Blanche) Evans, Jane Barnes, Sue Evans and Sally Evans.

Friends may call Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from 4-8 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 6, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastors Bucky Shumate and Toby Todd officiating. Burial will follow in C.M. Cemetery.
