Ronnie Wayne Shephard, age 77, of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away Thursday, May 30th, 2019 at his home surrounded by several family members and friends. He was born July 24th, 1941 in South Webster, Ohio to the late Herman and Pearl (Roe) Shephard.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nora Shephard, of Oak Hill; eight wonderful kids, Karen (Steve) Adkins, Ronnie Jr. (Sam) Shephard, Herman (Crystal) Shephard, Melinda (Jeff) Miller, Bonnie (Kevin) Johnson, Jerry (Courtney) Nichols, Nathan Shephard, and Allie Shephard; seventeen grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren as well as numerous friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Minnie, Joanne, Irene, and Tennyson as well as his grandson, Robbie Smith and grandson-in-law, Joshua Risner.

Ronnie loved to be outdoors, hunting, fishing, trapping, and running his beagle dogs. He owned and operated Ronnie Shephard Timber for 36 years until retirement. Ronnie was named “Logger of the Year” several years ago. He was instrumental in organizing and obtaining funding for the “Youth Day” at Jackson Lake starting in 1986. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church and the Lunker Hunters Bass Club, of Oak Hill.

Friends may call Sunday, June 2nd, 2019 from 4-8 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 3rd, at 3:00 PM with Pastor Ronnie Rawlins officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
