Stephen "Steve" Michael Williams Sr.

Stephen Michael “Steve” Williams Sr., age 61, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Saturday, September 5th, 2026, at his home after an extended illness. Steve was born in Jackson, Ohio on December 4th, 1964, to the late Hershel and Jean (Goheen) Williams.

Steve was a 1983 graduate of Jackson High School. He attended Buckey Hills where he studied in the Peace Officer training program. He then worked for many years as an armed guard in Columbus. After leaving there, he began a career in refinery work at a local factory.

In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing music. He was a master of almost all instruments. In his earlier years, he enjoyed participating in various softball leagues.

Steve recently turned his life over to the Lord with the help of his online congregational support system. He rose early every day and tuned into several different sermons which led him to his life as a believer.

He is survived by his daughter, Lacinda (Andy) Hilderbrant; grandson, Aaron Hilderbrant; granddaughter, Kyra Williams; great-grandson, Austin; and best friend, Charles “Lee” Koonce.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael “Bub” Williams.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 10th, 2026, from 4PM-6PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with a funeral immediately following at 6PM.
