Freida Gertrude Bowman

Freida Gertrude Bowman, age 97, of Jackson, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Southern Care Hospice of Ontario, in Ontario, Ohio. She was born September 14, 1928, to the late James and Edna (Briggs) Cooper.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two husbands, Weldon Ward, Clarence Bowman; siblings: Kenith Cooper, Robert Cooper, Lucille Simmering, and Vorgie Rodgers.

Frieda is survived by her son, James Ward; grandson, Ryan Ward; and siblings; Gerald Cooper and Marie Stephenson.

She graduated From Jackson high school in 1947. She lived in Jackson most of her life. She was always active in Church communities. Most recently at Faith Ministry Center in Jackson, prior to moving to Mansfield, Ohio to be closer to family.

She worked for years at Andrea's dress shop in town, before retiring several decades ago.

Freida's visitation will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 12-1 PM at the Faith Ministry Center, 24 Walter St. Jackson, Ohio 45640. Her Funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the church.  Burial will follow in C.M. Cemetery in Oak Hill. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
