Robin Marie Phillips

Robin Phillips, age 56, of Oak Hill, Ohio, entered Heaven, while surrounded by family, on Friday, September 4th, at 12:13 AM. She was born May 15, 1970 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Ponney and Marilyn Cisco.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert G. “Sam” Phillips; her daughter, Alex (Brandon) Stevens; her son, Riley (Miranda) Kuhn; her stepchildren, Kevin (Ashley) Phillips, Casey (Darian) Phillips, and Chloe (Corey) Lianez; her sister, Holly (Art) Doll; her brother, Jeff (Dawn) Cisco, and her best friend, Debbie Brown. Robin was also blessed with nine grandchildren, who were among the greatest joys of her life.

Robin was preceded in death by her parents, Ponney and Marilyn Cisco; and her grandparents, Opal Williams and Lee and Gladys Cisco.

Robin dedicated 34 years of her life to education, beginning her career in 1992. Teaching was much more than a profession to Robin, it was a calling and an opportunity to invest in the lives of others. Her career included teaching at Bloom-Vernon Local School District, 17 years with Oak Hill Union Local School District, and service with the State Support Team and the Gallia-Vinton Educational Service Center. Throughout her career, Robin poured her heart into her students, fellow educators, and the communities she served. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom, and the impact of her years in education will live on through generations of students and colleagues.

Above all else, Robin loved Jesus and faithfully served Him throughout her life. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about; it was reflected in the way she lived, loved, served, and cared for others. Over the years, she devoted herself to ministry and church life through Trinity Wesleyan Church, World Outreach Ministries, and Elevate Ministries. Her life was a testimony to the faith she held so dearly.

Some of Robin’s happiest moments were spent surrounded by the people she loved most. Her grandchildren brought tremendous joy to her life, and she treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. She loved family beach trips and especially cherished time at her favorite place, Lakewood Campground in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. The beach was a place where many special memories were made.

Robin lived a life centered on the things that mattered most to her: Jesus, family, and serving others through education. Whether she was teaching a student, serving in her church, enjoying the beach, or simply spending time with her grandchildren, she gave herself wholeheartedly to the people and purposes she loved.

While Robin will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in the faith that guided her throughout her entire life and a legacy that does not end with her passing.

A celebration of Robin’s life will be held at Elevate Ministries on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 6:00 PM with Carmen Cline officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home.
