Roger Eugene Puckett

Roger Eugene Puckett, age 76, of Oak Hill, passed away Friday September 4, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born October 3, 1949, in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Frank and Alice (Clifford) Puckett.

Roger is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce (Church) Puckett, of Oak Hill; children, Alice (James) Cooper, of Oak Hill, Thomas James (Stacy) Puckett, of Chillicothe, Ohio; two grandchildren, Savanna (Cody) Harvey and Noah Cooper (Taylor Chapman); and brother, Jeff (Sally) Puckett.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Bob, Kenny, and Ronnie Puckett; sisters, Pauline Comer, and Joanne Cox; and grandson, Adam Thomas Puckett.

Throughout his childhood he worked on his farm until he was drafted into the Vietnam War in 1969, spending 13 months and earning several medals. He met his wife Joyce in 1971, and they married a year later. They went on to have two children. He worked at Osco for several years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, four wheelers, etc. and also enjoyed woodworking.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 12-2 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Hughes officiating.
