Doris Fern Rapp, age 93, of Jackson, Ohio was called home on Thursday, August 9th, 2018. She was born March 1st, 1925, the last of 13 children born to the lateWilliam and Arminta Crabtree.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Dan) Ondera; six grandchildren: Gretchen (Chris) Fisher, Heather (Jason Via) Hagan, Angela (Chris) Bryant, Shawn (Kelli) McGhee, Amanda Ondera, and Adam Gahm; thirteen great-grandchildren: Taylor (Drake McCoy) Rippeth, Cody (Melinda) Cannon, Payton Rippeth, Drew (Shara) Cannon, Tyler (Alyssa) Ondera, Joshua Kisor, Kayla Swann, Noah McGhee, Toree Kisor, Alex Via, Hallee Kisor, Lynzee Kisor, Jonah McGhee; and six great-great-grandchildren: Raelynn Ondera, Harper Cannon, Henley Cannon, Ryleigh Ondera, Crew Cannon, and Sutton McCoy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Rapp; her daughter, Sharon Gahm; her brothers: Oscar, Gene, Clyde, Dick, and Ralph Edward; and her sisters: Jess, Louise, Betty, Eva, and Lessie; and infant twins.

Doris married her husband of 49 years, Lester, on November 4th, 1945, in Greenup, Kentucky. Doris worked for several years in the Firework Factory and Dick Brown’s Apple Orchard. She retired after 40 years as a cook for Jackson City Schools; during which time she worked at Franklin Valley School and Jackson High School.

Mammaw loved crafts, sewing, baking, craft shows, cookies, pies, fudge, dolls, and her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson, Ohio where she attended until she was no longer able due to her health. Mammaw made family wherever she went; whether that was at church, work, or craft shows.

We shared her with many for 93 years. We open the opportunity for all to say goodbye at Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson, Ohio. Family and friends may call on Sunday, August 12th, 2018 from 1PM to 3PM. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3PM with Pastor Tim Keeton officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery.
