Janet Kay (Fisher) Shaffer Thurston, age 77, of Oak Hill, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 13th, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born July 4th, 1940 in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Glenn and Dorothy (Evans) Fisher.

She is survived by her daughter, Alana (Charles) Williams of Oak Hill, Ohio; two granddaughters: Amanda Dawn of Centerville, Ohio and Dana Marie Williams (Chas Whittington) of Richmond, Kentucky; one brother, Roger (Margie) Fisher; three sisters: Wanda (Steve) Crabtree, Jane Miller, and Jackie (Ray) Denuit, all of Oak Hill, Ohio; as well as several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of over 40 years, Marvin Lowell Shaffer; and second husband, Robert “Bo” Thurston.

Janet graduated from Oak Hill High School class of 1958. She was a long-time employee of Calvin Lewis Insurance Agency in Oak Hill and later worked and retired from Wal-Mart of Jackson.

The family wishes to thank Adena Medical Staff and Heartland Hospice for the loving care they provided for Janet.

In keeping with Janet’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 15th, 2018 at 12PM at C.M. Cemetery with Rev. Fred Crabtree officiating.
