Ruth L. McKinney, 89, of Jackson, OH, died April 15, 2018, at Four Winds in Jackson.

Ruth was born in Parkersburg, WV, on June 21, 1928, and was raised in the Belpre, Ohio, area. She graduated from Belpre High School in 1945. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Alma Graham.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Graham, a brother, Robert Graham, and her husband, William S. McKinney. She is survived by a son Jeff (Kathy) of Jackson, Ohio, a son John (Jan) of Pensacola, FL, granddaughters Shannon (Brian) Stamper of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jamie (Ronnie) Sanders and Jessica (Mike) Agerton of Pensacola, FL, great grandsons Owen and Oliver Stamper, and great grandchildren Morgan and Ryan Sanders and Maddox Agerton of Pensacola, FL, a niece Janet (Dave) Helzer of Richmond, MI, and their children David and Melissa, and various cousins. Ruth is also survived by the beloved family dogs, Cooper and Lorelei.

Ruth was a homemaker and also was employed by Western Union of Parkersburg, WV.

Ruth was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, OH. She participated in several community outreaches in Jackson, including the Grandpal Program through the RSVP Volunteer Program. She was honored with the Luther Tracy Memorial Award recognizing her for her participation in this program. While living in the Belpre, OH, area, she was a member of Rockland United Methodist Church.

Calling hours will be at the Lewis Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Graveside services and burial will take place on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Rockland Cemetery in Belpre, OH with Rev. James Shuman officiating. A memorial service in Jackson will be scheduled for a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Marlee Factor Foundation of Jackson, Ohio.
