Helen “Louise” Hughes, age 89, of Jackson, Ohio went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Wednesday, December 21st, 2016. She was born May 3rd, 1927 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Ashton and Sylvia (Barlow) Hayth.

Louise is survived by her sons, Garen (Janet) Hughes and Brennen and (Kim) Hughes; grandchildren: Brandon (Marsha) Hughes, Kalle (Jason) Steele, Doug (Melissa) Hughes, and Lindsay (Elena) Hughes; great-grandchildren: Kelly, Chris, Lilly, Eli, Jake, Molly, Knox, and Cooper.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Hughes and a sister, Doris Rowland.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson, where she was active on the Pastoral Relations Committee, the First Baptist Church Choir, Treasurer of Ruth Missionary Circle, and Treasurer of Quo Vadis Sunday School Class. She enjoyed singing and was a member of the Acapello Ladies Trio, Laura’s Harmonets Ladies Chorus, and the barber shop quartet, The Jackson Jills. She was also a member of the Jackson Women’s League.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 26th, 2016 from 11-1pm at the First Baptist Church of Jackson. A funeral will immediately follow at 1pm with Pastor Tim Keeton officiating.
