Phyllis Criner, age 87, of Oak Hill, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born October 17, 1934, in Oak Hill to the late William S. Criner and Hazel E. (Rainer) Criner.
She is survived by her son, Steven Criner Sr. (Shirley Compston) of Oak Hill; two grandsons, Steven Criner Jr., of Oak Hill and Ryan (Stephanie) Criner, of Oak Hill; five great grandchildren; close friend, Terri Kuhn; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her three brothers, Frank Criner, Donald Criner Sr., and Paul Dearth; six sisters: Mary Ryder, Helen Blankenship, Francis Carter, Betty Johnson, Ada Sickles and Ruth Dearth.
Phyllis worked at the pants factory in Wellston and then for the plastics factory in Jackson (Jackson Corp.) in 1962 for numerous years before retiring. She loved gardening, baking, and bird watching. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022, from 11-1 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 with Pastor Dave Staiger officiating. Burial will follow in C.M. Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
