Gloria Jean Howell, age 73, of Oak Hill, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Oakwood Community in Jackson. She was born October 26, 1946 in Oak Hill, to the late Edward and Virgie Mae (Angel) Davis.

She is survived by her husband, David L. Howell, whom she married on May 12, 1978; daughter, Tammy Annette Bailey; granddaughter, Autumn Smith Perkins (Scott Perkins); brothers, Eddie Davis, Bob Davis, Frank Davis and Issac Davis. She also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Stanley Davis, Morgan Davis, Tom Davis, John Davis and David Davis and sisters, Darla Davis and Melissa Davis.

Gloria was a homemaker. She enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles and gardening. Most of all she enjoyed being with her family.

Friends may call 6-8 PM Monday, August 17, 2020 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at C.M. Cemetery with Pastor Jamie Moseley officiating. Burial will immediately follow. Per CDC guidelines and governor recommendations, everyone is asked to wear a mask while indoors and practice proper social distancing procedures and guidelines.
