Charla Lynne (Crabtree) Hale, age 54, of Batavia, formerly Oak Hill, passed away peacefully at her home with her family present Sunday, May 24, 2020 after an extended illness in Batavia, Ohio. Charla was born February 20, 1966 in Oak Hill.

She was a 1984 graduate of Oak Hill High School and Rio Grande College. She recently concluded her 32nd year of teaching English and Literature at Waverly High School. She is a life-long member of the Oak Hill Presbyterian Church.

Charla is survived by her daughter, Erin Hale; her mother, Barbara Crabtree; her father, Darrell Crabtree; brother, Chris Crabtree; and her partner in life for the past 22 years, John Conover.

She will be laid to rest in Bethel Cemetery in Oak Hill after a private ceremony with Pastor Linda Plummer officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
