Robert Lee “Dip” Grimes, age 78, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born February 9, 1939 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Dorothy (Sowards) Grimes.

He is survived by his son, Bobby (Lori) Grimes; grandchildren, Dakota (Tasha) Grimes, Gwendolyn Grimes and Cyrus Grimes; great grandchildren, Braxton, Raylyn and Paden Grimes, all of Jackson; sisters, Mary Helen Fisher, of Oak Hill and Bonnie Sue (Tom Kranyik) Grimes, of Jackson.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Sharon A. (Ousley) Grimes; siblings, Larry, Dickie, Phyllis, Jack, Ruth Ann, Patsy, Tom and Karen Jean.

Dip was a United States Army Veteran, he worked at DT&I Railroad and then retired from Meade. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors.
