Woodrow “Woody” Smith, age 59, passed away on Sunday, September 5th, 2021, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born February 12th, 1962, in California to the late Arthur Smith and Vera.
Woody is survived by his loving partner of 33 years, Marla Folden; his children and grandchildren: Christy (David, Misha, Olivia) Smith, Daniel (Amy, Addison) Hubbard, Danielle (Brent, Hunter, Jordan, Harley) Causey, Jafar (Jon, Kennedy, Jensen) Plummer; extended family, Carl Folden, Carla (Ron) Nutter, and Michelle (Jason) Smith; as well as several nieces and nephews; special friends, Josh New, Tim Childers, Paul Young, Zach (Sara, children) Lambert; lifelong friend of 30 years, Patty Gillispie; brother, Joe (Carol, James, Tiffany) Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Marvin and Connie Folden.
Woody’s life began and ended with his kids and grandbabies. He took every opportunity to tell them how proud he was of them.
He was talented at creating many items, including custom cornhole boards, man cave décor, and breathtaking Halloween decorations. He enjoyed life to the fullest, spending his free time fishing and in the company of close friends and family. He was never happier than when surrounded by those he loved and was one of the biggest hearted men you could find.
Per his wishes, no public services will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor all that Woody was to our entire family and circle of friends.
