Tom Moses, age 61, of Jackson and formerly Oak Hill, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with illnesses at Adena Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born March 20, 1961, to the late Roy and Josine (Thomas) Moses.

Tom was a loving son, devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, and a caring and compassionate brother and friend. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Josine and Roy Moses; and his cherished wife of 32 years, Linda Moses.

He is survived by his daughter, Megan (Josh) Shoemaker and their sons, Caden, Wyatt and Colton; brothers, Steve (Mable) Moses, Rob (Jennie) Moses; sisters-in-law Dorothy (Kenny) Munyan, Connie (Frank) Elcess, Rosalie Lewis, Brenda (Dave) Howell; nieces and nephews, Rachael (David) Holm, Kyle (Amanda) Moses, Hannah Moses, Michelle Massie, Alisha Landrum, Tara Landrum, Leah Davenport, Amber Higgs, Frank Elcess Jr., Zachary Elcess, Joshua Howell; former wife Kim Moses, and many great nieces and nephews.

Tom was a former member of the Madison-Jefferson volunteer fire department and a member of the Oak Hill Portland Masonic Lodge #366. He worked in quality control for Plibrico in Oak Hill and BellisioFoods in Jackson. Tom had immeasurable pride for his daughter, Megan, throughout her school years and beyond. He was by far her “biggest fan” during her many sporting events. He looked forward to managing the rowdy “Bean Crew” at the annual Bob Evans Farm Festival which he attended for nearly 50 years until his health declined. Tom was a former caretaker and trustee of the Centerville Hill Cemetery. He enjoyed sharing his contagious laughter with friends and family, he was always in good spirits, and he knew how to not take life too seriously. He dealt with challenges throughout his life but remained positive and persevered.

Per his wishes, his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held 2:00 Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Stan Howard officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations to the Centerville Hill Cemetery Association, PO Box 54, Thurman, OH 45685. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
