Thelma May Ruth Boswell, age 88, of Jackson, Ohio passed away on Friday, February 17th, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Thelma was born August 31st, 1934, in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Harry and Osa Folden. Thelma raised five children on Price Switch Road (the holler) along with her husband, Cameron Duane Boswell.
Anyone who knew Thelma knew she had a passion for fishing and mushroom hunting. She spent many days with her siblings, children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren in the woods hunting mushrooms, picking berries, and catching fish.
Her loved ones will never forget her singing “You are my sunshine” and other tunes to them over the years. She was full of laughter, jokes, and kindness. She will be greatly missed for her genuine concern for everyone around her, firecracker wit, and her show-stopping humor.
She is survived by her children: Ruth Ann (Dave) Davis, Osa Boswell, Camie (Otto) Barr, Duane Boswell, Lovon (Jim) Faris; twelve grandchildren: Bobby (Misty) Davis, Tony (Katie) Davis, Timmy (Penny) Davis, Brian (Jessica) Boswell, OJ (Cynthia) Barr, Eli (Caity) Barr, Nishika (Terry) Lambert, Shania (Dakota) Boswell, Josh (Lindsey) Roach, Joshua (Kaity) Boswell, Mya (Justin) Ferris, and Audra Parker; twenty-one great-grandchildren; siblings: Ross (Mary) Folden, Ray (Sharon) Folden, Judy Whalen, Joy (Jim) Hale, and Barbara Dulaney.
In addition to her parents, Thelma is preceded in death by her husband, Cameron Duane Boswell; siblings: Peggy Jewel, Carol (Bill) Landrum, Gene (Barb) Folden, and Marvin (Connie) Folden.
Respects can be paid on Tuesday, February 21st, 2023, from 12-2PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2PM with Pastor Butch Cooper officiating.
