Kathleen "Kay" Canter

Kathleen “Kay” Canter, age 76, of Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Siena Gardens in Cincinnati. She was born October 18, 1944 in Jackson to the late Charles Hughes and Florence (Whaley) Hughes.

She is survived by her children: Tony Canter (Melody) of Jackson, Ohio, Bobbi (Jimmy) Iricks of Betsy Lane, Kentucky, Larry Canter of Maytown, Kentucky, William (Chantelle) Canter of Cincinnati, Ohio, Howard (Linda) Whaley, Roger Leroy Hughes, Bill (Tamara) Hughes, Jane Roark, Betty Malone, Roseanne (Kenneth) Music, Charles (Donna) Hughes, and Thomas Hughes; as well as eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hank Canter.

Kay worked at Walmart in Jackson for several years. She adored her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson. She was an avid reader, she loved Bingo, Nascar, watching criminal shows, and she loved going to church.

Friends may call Monday, April 19, 2021 from 11-1PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1PM. Per CDC and governor guidelines, everyone is required to wear a mask and practice proper social distancing. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Coalton, OH.
