Jarrod Wayne Blamer, age 44, of Oak Hill and Jackson, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at the University of Cincinnati with his family at his side. He was born in Gallipolis on June 28, 1980, to Wayne Blamer and Mary Brown.
He is survived by his mom, Mary Brown; his father, Wayne (Carol) Blamer; his loving wife, Heather (Jones) Blamer; daughters, Haley Blamer and Mackenzie Blamer; stepsons, Travis, Andy and Aaron Canter; sisters, Cindy Winkler, and Brandy (Martin) Mather; stepsister, Bethany Camelin; niece, Kendra Winkler; best friend, Willy Landrum; very good friend, Tommy Canter; grandchildren, Bradley, Lilly, and Grayson Canter; brother and sisters-in-law, Brian (Connie) Potts and Cheryl Potts; and several nephews, and a niece.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Elwin and Betty Blamer, and Jim and Freda Brown; and brother-in-law, Vance Winkler.
Jarrod graduated from Jackson High School in 1999. He was a huge part of the 4-H family where he started at the age of 8. He attended Buckeye Hills Career Center. He had his two daughters, Haley and Mackenzie and was a great and loving father to them. Jarrod made so many connections dealing in scrap metal. He met his wife, Heather (Jones) and married her 4 years ago. He was known by so many in Jackson County and beyond. He was a bit stubborn, and bull headed, but he would do anything for anyone. He was very close and adored his two sisters, Cindy and Brandy. He was known as "Jay-Rod", or "Blamer", and will be missed by countless friends, and family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024, at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill from 2:00-5:00 PM. A celebration of Jarrod’s life will follow at 5:00 at the funeral home with Pastor Kyle Wardlaw officiating. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
