Juanita Faye “Sis” Miller passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on August 7, 2020. On March 10, 1935, Delmar and Margaret (Crabtree) Snyder welcomed their first daughter. “Sis”, as she was known to all, was the second of ten children. It was here in Oak Hill, that Sis was born and spent her life raising her own children while owning her own business.

She had a fiery and independent personality that endeared her to many. She loved to sit on her porch swing with her dog, surrounded by the flowers she lovingly tended to and visit with family and friends. It was quite common for those passing by to pull over and visit. While she loved all company, her favorite visitors were those who called her Maw; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved to spoil with ice cream and other treats.

In addition to her parents, Sis was preceded in death by her first husband, Garner Harrison; second husband, Clinton E. Miller; her sons, Ricky Harrison and Larry Harrison; and son-in-law, Chuck Reeves. Also preceding her in death were her siblings, Delmar Snyder Jr., Mary Marco, Herbie Snyder, Wayne Snyder, Judy Snyder and Howard Snyder.

Sis was blessed with a large family who will miss and remember her every day. This includes her children, Patricia Reeves, Carolyn Williamson, Brenda (Mike) Whittaker, Kathy (Bob) Allen, Mary (Thomas) Shaffer, and Donnie Harrison; siblings, Geraldine Hall, Kathy (John) Mynes and Connie (Jim Bob) Warren. Also surviving are her thirteen grandchildren, Angie (John) Woods, Michelle Toner, Andrea (Aaron) Michael, Brian Harrison, Lisa (Clint) Potter, Jessica Harrison, Jennifer (Ian) McCreary, Megan (Bucky) Lunsford, Bobbie (Ray) Chapman, Erik (Rhiahna) McGhee, Chelsea (Charlie) Roe, McKayla (Hunter) McGowan and Luke Shaffer; seventeen great grandchildren; special cousin, Rita Lovett and her loyal dog, Molly.

Friends may call Tuesday, August 11, 2020 from 4-8 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at the funeral with burial to follow. Per CDC guidelines and governor recommendations, everyone is asked to wear a mask while indoors and practice proper social distancing procedures and guidelines.
