Ronald W. Howell, age 74, of Oak Hill, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 30, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. He was born August 12, 1945 to the late William and Marie (Brady) Howell.

Ronnie went to school in Decatur and Blackfork and then served in Vietnam with the United States Army on the river. In Vietnam, he welded boats and barges. He then worked in construction as a welder in the tri state area. He was a very devoted and proud grandpa. His grandchildren meant everything to him, he will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jeanie (Brown) Howell; children, Lori (Robert) Williams and Ronnie Howell, all of Oak Hill; grandchildren, Christopher (Kelsy) Simpson, Brianna Simpson and Brittany Simpson; sister, Sharon (Alan) Hughes; and brother, John (Ruth) Howell. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his three brothers, William, Robert, and Dennis and one infant brother.

Per CDC and Governor DeWine’s recommendations, funeral services will be private under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Burial with military honors will be held in Bethel Cemetery in Oak Hill. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
