James C. Jones, age 97, of Oak Hill, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Four Winds Community. Jim was born January 13, 1922 to the late Clyde Jones and Lillian Jones Williams.

Jim attended Ohio State University for four years and then was a fighter pilot on the U.S.S. Wasp during WWII. After the war, Jim was employed by Varian Association in Palo Alto, California.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Betty Zikas, stepfather, Ross Williams, and step son, John Conley.

He is survived by his wife Jane Jones; five children, Jamie, of Chicago, Paul and David, both of Columbus, Kevin and Linda, both of Oak Hill; step daughter, Susan Conley (David) Massie; step son, Rick (Pam) Conley; seven grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Jim was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Oak Hill.

Friends may call Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 4-8 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, September 5, 2019 with Rev. Herman Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in C.M. Cemetery in Oak Hill with military honors. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
