Nova K. (Tope) Lovett, age 79, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Nova was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on September 21, 1939 to the late Archie E. and Edna E. (Smith) Tope.

She was a graduate of Oak Hill High School. On August 3, 1958, Nova and James E. Lovett were united in marriage.

Nova is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jim Lovett of Oak Hill, Ohio; daughters, Denise (Jim) Badgley of Columbus, Ohio and Teresa (Mike) Hakes of Centerburg, Ohio; grandsons, Robert and Johnathon Hakes of Centerburg, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her four sisters and their spouses: Annie and Carl Adkins, Ruth and Everett Adkins, Clarence and Doris Roach, and Carol and Ray Madden.

Nova was an avid golfer and proud of the hole-in-one she made on number 12 at Franklin Valley Golf Course. She loved to read and over the years enjoyed cooking, sewing, ceramics and other crafts. She enjoyed being involved in the community. She coordinated the baby contest for the Festival of Flags. She was Treasurer of the Friends Club, purchasing, wrapping and delivering presents for needy families at Christmas time. She helped organize the Class of 1957 Reunions for many years. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Friends may call Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 5-8 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 11AM at the funeral home with Pastor Becky Wingo officiating. Burial will follow in C.M. Cemetery. Instead of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to: Faith United Methodist Church, 320 West Main St., Oak Hill, OH 45656.
