Helen Mae Landers Simpson England Lawson, age 90, of Jackson, Ohio passed away Thursday, August 23rd, 2018 at her daughter’s home. She was born June 4th, 1928 in Pomeroy, Ohio to the late Raymond H. Sr. and Nora (Windon) Landers.

Helen attended the Winchester Church in Bloomfield Township. She is a lifetime member of the VFW Post#9893 Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a volunteer “Grandma” at the Child Development Center and has many “grandchildren” she has shared her love with there.

She is survived by her brother, Carl Landers; children: Helena Lawson of Wellston, Ohio, Bertha (Kenneth) Chandler of Jackson, Ohio, Nora (Les) Reed of Ludlow, Kentucky, Charlotte Callahan of Moses Lake, Washington, and Ronald (Christy) Simpson of Follansbee, West Virginia; daughter-in-law, Janet Simpson of Patriot, Ohio; step-daughters, Joyce Pierce of Wheelersburg, Ohio and Linda Hollsinger of Waverly, Ohio; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Rev. George W. Lawson Sr. and David Simpson; sons, George W. Lawson Jr. and Thomas R. Simpson; and brothers, Walter David Landers and Raymond Landers Jr.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 27th, 2018 from 4-8PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 28th, 2018 at 1PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with Rev. James Dillon officiating. Burial will follow at Gallia Baptist Cemetery.
