Jack Marlin Woolum, age 70, of Arlington, Virginia passed away on Saturday March 24, 2018. He was born on March 20, 1948 to the late Emil and Louise (Kiser) Woolum.
Born and raised in Oak Hill, Jack was a 1966 graduate of Oak Hill High School and was a member of the marching band. After graduation, he attended Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio becoming a CPA and later attained a master’s degree in business.
In 1969 Jack married his wife, Nancy, and they spent most of their married life in Cleveland, Ohio. He was employed by various companies as a business consultant and toward the end of his career, he served in this capacity for the United States Department of Defense.
Jack enjoyed shooting sporting clays with friends, but since he and Nancy had no children, He devoted most of his time to Nancy and his career.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy. He is survived by his cousins, Barbara Crabtree, Joseph Jones and Robert Kiser. In addition, Jack had a circle of friends in the Washington, D.C. area and his best friend, Chuck Miller, who were there with him until his passing.
Friends may call Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 12-2PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral home of Oak Hill. A combined service for both Jack and Nancy (who passed one week prior to Jack) will be held at 2:00pm with Pastor Stan Howard officiating. Burial will follow in C.M. Cemetery.
