Catherine Mae Williams, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Holzer Senior Care Center in Bidwell. Catherine was a resident of Centerville, having lived there for the past 77 years. Catherine was born February 20, 1922 to her parents, Gilbert and Esta Lewis. She had two brothers, Thomas (Wilma) Lewis (deceased), and Robert (Billie) Lewis (deceased). She was raised on a farm in the Cooper Hollow region of Jackson county where she attended the one room school of Fox Den and graduated from Oak Hill High School with the class of 1939. Catherine was a gentle and kind soul and devoted her life to her family. She married her husband Roger (deceased) on April 12, 1942 and they had a long and loving life together, where they raised three sons, Kenneth D. (Carole) of Ocala Florida, Gary L. (MaryAnne), of Marietta, Ohio and Roger D. (deceased), wife Sue Ann, of Pickerington, Ohio. Catherine was blessed with grandchildren including, Tamara (Chon) Enriquez, of Columbus, Kimberly (Craig) Walkup, of Westfield Center, Brooke (Gabe) Preston, of Columbus, Susie (Terry) Yeager, of Dublin, Dr. Christopher Ty (Peter Golden) Williams, of Los Angeles and Ryan (Jennifer) Williams, of Athens and Tyler (Megan) Williams, of Stockport.

Great grandchildren include Emma Williams, of Portland, Oregon, Paige Williams, of Jackson, Ohio, Arden Preston, of Columbus, Ohio, Jon (Katie) Walkup, of Wadsworth, Ohio, Chase (Aubrey) Walkup, of Kent, Ohio, Zack Mathew, of Dublin, Christopher Ward, of Canal Winchester and Jeremy Nelson, of Cape Coral, Florida.

Great-great grandchildren include Eli Walkup and Jonah Walkup. Catherine was blessed to live in the village of Centerville, as many residents wrapped their arms around her and watched over her. She was able to enjoy living in her home during the last years with the loving care given by caretaker, Teresa Massie.

Friends may call Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will follow at the Thurman United Methodist Church at 11:30 Wednesday with Pastor John Rozewicz officiating. Burial will follow in Hill Cemetery.
