Nancy S. Detty, age 69, of Oak Hill, Ohio, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Carl and Virginia (Jean) Anderson on September 26, 1947.

She married Darrell (Dick) R. Detty on September 1, 1967 in Oak Hill, Ohio. She was a caring and loving wife for 49 years. Nancy is a faithful servant and member of Horeb Presbyterian Church in Oak Hill, Ohio. Most remember her as an active mom for her three kids, always yelling the loudest and ringing the cowbell at football games. Most recently, she was a proud grandmother of several wonderful grandkids who will always remember afternoons making memories in her pool. In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Darrell D. Detty. Nancy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Darrell R. Detty of Oak Hill, Ohio; her children Peter (Morgan) Detty of Oak Hill, Ohio, Carl Detty of Oak Hill, Ohio, and Carmen (Larry) Malone of Hilliard, Ohio; sisters Debra (Lonnie) Delaney of Oak Hill, Ohio and Carol (Eric) Witte of Liberty Center, Ohio; brothers-in-law Jay (Mindy) Detty of Marysville, Ohio and Jack (Theresa) Detty of Jackson, Ohio; sister-in-law, Barbara McCready of Dayton, Ohio; mother-in-law, Martha Detty-Foster of Oak Hill, Ohio; her grandchildren, Shannon and Addison Malone of Hilliard, Austin and Zachary Detty of Oak Hill, Ohio, and Christopher Tedford of Lexington, North Carolina; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill, Ohio with Pastor Linda Plummer officiating. Burial will follow in C.M. Cemetery.
