John Terry Goodman, born on August 23, 1952 entered his heavenly home on Friday, October 25th, 2019 at the age of 67. He was surrounded by his loving family at the James Cancer Center in Columbus.

Surviving are his wife, Jeannie (Gregory) Goodman; brother, Larry (Kathy) Goodman; and sister, Lorilee Goodman. Also surviving are son, Shane (DeAnna) Goodman and daughter, Tara (Stephen) Richards and their mother, Linda (Bates) Mapes; step-daughter, Carmen Bartoe (Robert); step-son, Keith (Karen) Martin; brother-in-law, Stephen (Renea) Gregory; nephews: Ryan (Sarah) Goodman, Randy (Lauren) Goodman, Rusty & Richie Gregory; and nieces, Jennifer Devlin and Stephanie (Kevin) Casto; grandchildren: Dylan (Lydia) Bartoe, Madison Richards, Payton Taylor, Jaiden Goodman, Adrian Goodman, DeLaney Gilliland, Elle Richards, Zachery Martin, and Benjamin and Alexander Smith. He was also loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, John and Wilma Goodman, in-laws, William and Dorothy Gregory; brother-in-law, Jim Gregory (Carolyn); grandson, Ayden Bartoe; along with grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Terry was a 1970 graduate of Jackson High School and attended Rio Grande Community College. He worked for Henry's Supermarket before beginning his career at GTE. He also worked at Fred Hill Realty, ITL Lumber, Mill's Pride and Buckeye Sign Company. Terry was a long-time member of the Jackson Area Jaycees and served as a Director and President of the Jackson County Apple Festival.

Terry enjoyed spending time with the family camping and grilling out. He loved the apple orchard where the family rode 4-wheelers. When confined to a wheelchair, he rode his motorized scooter all around the neighborhood to visit with neighbors and attend the farmer's market. He loved his dogs and cats and believed in rescuing from the pound whenever possible. Terry was a generous man who loved the act of giving. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 30th, 2019 from 3-6PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. A funeral service will follow at 6pm with Pastor Gary Hogue officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations in his honor to be made to Jackson County Dog Pound, 275 Portsmouth Street, Jackson, Ohio 45640.
