Anna Jean Brookins, 78, of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2018. She was at her daughter’s home in Hilliard, Ohio surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 21, 1940, a daughter of the late William Leonard and Mary (Allen) Leonard. She is survived by her husband, and the love of her life, Evan “Ike” Brookins. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past October.

Anna attended Oak Hill High School (class of 1958), was a homemaker and attended both the Old Country Church Tabernacle, and Winchester Community Church. She and Ike resided in both Columbus and Hilliard Ohio for 38 years, before returning to Oak Hill after Ike’s retirement.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Carrie Leffingwell, Mary "Sis" Leonard Smith; and her brother, Charles "Bud" Leonard.

In addition to her husband “Ike”, she is survived by one son, Dennis (Pamm) Brookins, of Hilliard, OH.; one daughter, Cheryl (Jim) Shanks, of Hilliard; four grandchildren, Ashley Shanks, of Hilliard, Jillianne (Jon) Stephens, of Hilliard, Eric (Jessica) Brookins, of Dublin, OH., and Brandon (Tricia) Brookins, of Mechanicsburg, OH. Also surviving are eleven great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Jackson, Jett, Jeric, Jorja, Jaely, Claire, Andrew, David, Lilly and Isaac; three sisters, Norma (Ronald) Gall, Katheryn Leonard, and Dora (Sammy Leffingwell) Sharp and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends may call Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 4-8 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Rondall Walker officiating. Burial will follow in C.M. Cemetery.
