Terry D. Osborne, age 78, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Jenkins Care Community in Wellston. He was born on September 1, 1939 to the late Aubrey & Eleanor (Cherrington) Osborne. This was the same day that Germany invaded Poland and started World War II.

Terry grew up on Keystone Furnace Road, attended Lick Elementary School and graduated from Jackson High School with the Class of 1957.

In 1959, Terry married the late Regina (Staten) and together they raised six children who survive; Denise Brown (Eric), Lisa Oberholzer (Larry), Terry "Dean" II (Joyce Kuhn), Patrick (Mechelle Mullins), Julie Osborne and Shawn (Beth Turner-Blankenship). Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Terry learned to be a mechanic as a teenager and worked at various places before settling at Barnett International truck dealership for fifteen years. In 1979, at the age of 39, Terry started his own business, Osborne Equipment Service, repairing diesel semi trucks and trailers. In 1994, Osborne Equipment Service became the first business to build in the Sarah-James Industrial Park in McCarty Lane.

In 1998, Terry was honored by the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce as Entrepreneur of the Year.

Terry was honored by the Jackson Apple Festival Committee as Grand Marshall for the 2017 festival.

Terry’s hobbies have included camping, motorcycle riding, boating, competitive target shooting, and tinkering with riding lawn mowers.

Friends may call Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 2-6 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, July 30, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Stan Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Resident Activity Fund at Jenkins Care Community, 142 Jenkins Memorial Rd., Wellston, Ohio 45692 in Terry’s memory.
