Arnold (Ben) Campbell, 84 of Ray, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, March 7, 2017 at Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.

He was born on Feb. 14,1933 in Scioto County, Ohio to the late Henry and Sara Campbell. He was married 65 years to the love of his life, Rena (Parsons) Campbell, who survives. They were united in marriage on Oct 29,1951.

Also surviving are his daughters, Jo (Ronnie) Warrens, Patty (Steve) Morton, Barbara Morgan and Carol (Keith) Ray, 7 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. One sister, Lula Case of Wellston, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 6 brothers, 2 sisters and one daughter, Wanda Sue Oney, 2 grandchildren, Sarah and Tommy.

He was a member of Trippieville Baptist Church of Ray, Ohio for 51 years. He helped build the church, served as their first deacon and then later an Elder of the church.

He worked as a crane operator at the Buckeye Steele Company in Columbus, Ohio for 40 years, retired in 1995.

He loved playing the guitar and singing gospel songs. One of the first songs he learned to sing and play was Purple Robe. He enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his wife and children, going to church and visiting the nursing homes.

He will be missed by all, he is now playing his guitar and singing with the Angels around God’s throne.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Trippieville Baptist Church on Bronx Corners Rd with Reverend Ronald Warrens officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Coalton. Friends may call Friday, March 10, 2017 from 4-8 PM at the church.
