Kimberly Michelle Rankin, age 44, after a lengthy illness, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 19, 2021. Kim fought hard for the last two years, battling health complications. But the Angels came and took her to see Jesus while she was surrounded by her family at home.

Kim is survived by her parents, Tom and Judy Rankin; brother, Tommy (Brenda Andrews) Rankin; sister, Chris (Bert) Kisor; nieces, Dr. Sonja (Adam) Johnson, Natosha (Blake) Harrison; nephews, Brock Kisor and Max Rankin; grandmother, Vera “Birdie” Coppock; special friend, Sherri Shriver, and many wonderful aunts, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Orville and Gladys Rankin, and maternal grandfather, Kenny Coppock.

Born October 10, 1976, Kim was a light and inspiration to all she met. She was a member of the Blackfork Freewill Baptist Church, as long as her health allowed her to attend.

Kim gave her life to Christ at age 17. And even though she had many major health problems from her birth to the last several years being homebound, she never let that stop her from encouraging others to witness for Jesus. She continued to testify any way possible, sending cards and Bibles by mail to as many as she could in need. She helped many more with prayers by internet or over the phone.

Kim’s faith was apparent to all that met her. One of the last things she said to her mother was, “Don’t cry when I pass away because that is just an empty shell. I will be gone with my Jesus. So rejoice!”

Tom and Judy would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Patrick and Mary Ball, Rev. Herman and Katherine Stewart, Rev. Fred and Debbie Crabtree and the many family and friends for all the care, love, and support given to Kim through all of the years.

Friends may call to celebrate Kim’s life on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 5-8 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 11:00 at the funeral home with Rev. Herman Stewart and Rev. Fred Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow in C.M. Cemtery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions please be made to Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home towards the funeral expenses. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
