Richard C. “Clint” McWhorter, age 80, of Chillicothe, Ohio and formerly of Englewood, Ohio passed away Saturday, June 14th, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. He was born October 16, 1944, in Jackson, Ohio to the late Orville and Mildred (Lambert) McWhorter.

Clint proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Clint retired from Miami Valley Vending after many years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who could often be found hunting and fishing. Clint enjoyed sitting on his front porch and watching the Cincinnati Reds. Above all, He loved his family and grandson more than anything.

Clint is survived by his wife, Shelba (Eubanks) McWhorter; daughter, Tiffany (Ronald) Cartwright; grandchildren: Riker Cartwright, Richard III (Sierra) McWhorter, Ross (Katie) McWhorter, Ronald (Kaylee) Cartwright, and Rodney Cartwright; great-grandchildren: Nova, Josie, Richard IV, Zoe, Abby, Samantha, Paisley, and Hunter; siblings: Tim (Clo) McWhorter, Diane (Dan) Baxter, Joyce Kline, and Marg Swann; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Roger Burton and Donnie (Cindy) McCray; daughter-in-law, Brenda McWhorter; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard “Rick” McWhorter II; granddaughter, Rylee Jo Cartwright; mother and father-in-law, Donald and Helen McCray; and brothers-in-law, James McCray and John Kline.

Visitation will be Monday, June 23, 2025 from 11-12 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Brian Kight officiating. Burial will follow approximately 3:00 PM at Minnich Cemetery in Union, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
