Roberta Joyce (Howell) Boggs was called home to the Lord on June 8, 2025. She was born December 27, 1943, in Oak Hill, to Thurman and Magdalene (Jones) Howell. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Ronnie Boggs on March 7, 1964. To this union was three sons: Ronnie Dean Boggs, of Florida, Matthew (Rhoda) Boggs and Scott (Jamie) Boggs, all of Oak Hill.
Roberta graduated from Oak Hill High School with the class of 1962. After graduation she worked in Piketon at a dental office when her husband was drafted. The Army took her to different bases in the United States and then Germany. She was a full-time loving mother of her three sons and in her mid-life, she worked at the Davis Home from which she retired upon their closing.
Roberta was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church. She loved singing with “The Sounds of Joy”. In recent years, her failing health hindered her attendance, but it did not hinder her faith in God. She often mentioned of going home to the Lord and seeing her loved ones that had gone on before. Roberta enjoyed time with her grandchildren and was always proud to share their pictures over the years.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, her three sons, and grandchildren: Chase, Cassandra, Summer, Bella, Brooklyn and Bailie Boggs, Haley (Austin) Warren and Jordan (Nick) Swann. She is also survived by three great grandchildren: Audrey, James, and Braxton; sister, Beverly (Calvin) Lewis; brother, Doug (Lois) Howell; sister-in-law, Nancy Howell Cherrington; and many close nieces and nephews.
Roberta is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and closely loved brother, Greg Howell. She will be dearly missed by her family, church family and all her friends.
