Richard Alston Johnson, age 65, of Oak Hill, Ohio and formerly of Catlettsburg, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, May 19th, 2020 with his loving family at his side. He was born November 19th, 1954 in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Marjorie (Alston) and Bobby Gene Johnson.

Rick was a 1972 graduate of Boyd County High School and retired in 2008 as a truck driver from Bulk Plants Incorporated. His true passion was farming and raising Red Angus cattle on his farm located in Oak Hill, Ohio. He was a longstanding member of the National Red Angus Association. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Deborah (Holbrook) Johnson; children: Bobby Gene (Jennifer) Johnson of Oak Hill, Ohio and Trista Dawn (Eric) Opell of Catlettsburg, Kentucky; five grandchildren: Austin Johnson, Jenna Johnson, Joseph Opell, Luke Opell, and Emmett Opell; sisters, Myra Lynn (Ernie) Withrow and Vanessa Carol (Tom) Arthur; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Ernest Johnson.

Private funeral services will be held at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Pastor Jason Porter will deliver a message of comfort. Interment will follow at Moriah Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
