Preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary, Roger D. Kozma (“Kozmo” or “Koz,” to his friends) was born on March 1, 1949 and died on March 10, 2020 at the age of 71. A retired factory worker, husband, and father, he is survived by his daughter, Wendi Kozma (Tracy Osborne), his sister, Sandy Blevins (whom he affectionately called “Meatball”), and his extended family. Prior to and during his retirement, he spent his time tinkering in his garage, working on some project or another, fishing, and going to the drag strip and auctions with Teddie. He also enjoyed visiting family in West Virginia and watching westerns like Hopalong Cassidy and anything starring Clint Eastwood. In particular, he enjoyed warm summer days, being outside, watching the birds, feeding 82 (the outside cat), and talking to the neighbors. He also loved sharing his beasties’ treats with the neighbor’s dogs and “stealing” lollipops at the vet’s office.

Quick to make someone laugh and always a jokester, he was cared for by many people, including his immediate family, Wendi and Tracy; his sister, Sandy; his nieces, Rhonda McGhee and Robin Burton; his great niece, Mikayla Burton; friends, Crystal Walker, Tammy Hoover, and Beth Brown; and Adena Hospice (Kara, Sherry, Jane, and Ashley).

Not one for crowds, and per Roger’s request, no service will be held. Instead, a small memorial of sorts will be held in his honor. The date and location will be determined by the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. In lieu of flowers, Tracy and Wendi ask that donations be made to Adena Hospice, 2077 Western Avenue, Chillicothe, OH 45601. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
