Ella Sue Gillum, age 72, of Jackson, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 13, 2019 at her home. She was born March 21, 1947 in Jackson, to the late Dewey and Sarah (Kelly) Cantor.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Grover Gillum Sr., of Jackson; children, Grover Gillum Jr., Mahalia (Dexter) Hughes, Dean Gillum, Marsha (Gary) Gillum, Jennifer Gillum, James (Tangy) Gillum; special granddaughter, whom she raised, Brittany Gillum; one brother, Robert Cantor; one sister, Gladys Moon and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Timothy Gillum; daughter, Teresa Drake; sisters, Betty Lewis, Mahala Cantor, Zella Cantor, Janet Warren, Clara Whaley and Patty Eisnaugle; and brother, Roger Cantor.

She was a loving caring wife, mother and grandmother. She had an incredible sense of humor. She was beautiful inside and out and will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses. Arrangements are pending under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson.
