Robert Franklin Bragg Jr., age 79, of Jackson, passed away late Friday, December 19, 2025, at Adena Medical Center in Chillicothe. He was born November 26, 1946, in Jackson, Ohio to the late Robert Bragg Sr and Reba “Ruth” (Gilliland) Bragg.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Yoshiko (Oshiro) Bragg, of Jackson; children, Marie Bragg, of Jackson, Robert (Amanda) Bragg III, of Centerburg, Ohio, and Dustie (Richard) Specht, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Jacob and Addison Specht, and Cora Bragg; brother, Tom (Kathy) Bragg; nephews and nieces: Michael Bragg, Lauren Fredrick, Alyson, Jacqueline and Leslie Bragg, Jace Bradford, and Angie Hixon. Also surviving are his sisters-in-law, Diane Bragg, Mary Gulas Bragg.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Walter Steven “Steve” Bragg, Gary Dwight Bragg; and his nephew, David Bragg.
Robert was a Vietnam veteran, he served in the United States Airforce from 1965-1985. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and also served as the treasurer from 2015-2024. He was also a lifetime member and president of the Jackson chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America, as well as a lifetime member of the Amvets and VFW. He was also a board member of the Jackson County Veterans Service Commission.
Friends may call on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 11-1 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Dave Collins officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Mt. Olivet Cemetery at a later date with military honors. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
