Roger “Hodge” Underwood, age 67, of Oak Hill passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019 at his home. He was born May 19, 1952 in Oak Hill to the late Frank and Effie (Louderback) Underwood.

He is survived by his loving cousin, Rhonda (Tim) ONeal, and her children, Patsy, Katie and Addie; close friend that was like a daughter to him, Alicia (Alan) Ratcliff and her children, Haley, Zachary and Madison; and life-long friends, Barb (Alan) Wasmer and numerous other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Underwood.

Hodge was very generous and loving to everyone he met. He loved to fish, read and collected knives. He was quiet yet everyone knew him and all of those that knew him, loved him. He will be dearly missed.

Roger appreciated the care given to him by the nurses at Accent Care.

Friends may call Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 11-12 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. A graveside service will immediately follow at 12:30 PM at Horeb Cemetery with Pastor Tim O’Neal officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations towards the funeral expenses.
