Myron S Williams, 96, of Jackson, went to his heavenly home on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Four Winds Nursing facility. He was born March 1, 1922 in Gallia County to the late Chris and Ethel (Thomas) Williams.

He is survived by his three children, Larry Kern, of Houston, Texas, Christy (Williams) Davis, of Hilliard, Ohio and Elaine (Williams) Blackburn of Canton, Ohio; two granddaughters, Amanda (Davis) Ritchey of Hilliard, Ohio and Whitney (Blackburn) Waseity of Massillon, Ohio, 4 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his beloved wife, Betty Perkins Williams; his son-in-law and friend, Butch Davis, and 7 brothers and sisters.

Myron was a veteran of WWII who believed in that for which he fought. A dedicated soldier who fought so that others might be free to live as they desired. He belonged to Company B, 607th Tank Destroyer Battalion and landed 2nd wave on Utah Beach in June 1944. Following the war, he worked as a foreman at Globe Interlake until its closing, he then served as a Jackson City Policeman and then retired from Columbus and Southern Ohio electric. He was a dedicated member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Jackson since 1986.

Graveside services were held at 3:00 PM Monday, March 5, 2018 with his family and internment at Fairmount Cemetery. Military honors were performed by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter of Jackson.
