Louise E. Richards, age 95, of Thurman, Ohio passed away Friday, January 17, 2020 at Jenkins Memorial Nursing Facility. Louise was born April 10, 1924 to the late Charles and Marie (Evans) Erwin. Louise is survived by two sons, Stephen B. (Paulette) and Rickey D. (Josine) of Thurman, Ohio. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Andrea (Jeff) Hale, Stephen (Tara) Richards and Heath (Vicki) Richards all of Thurman, Ohio, and Vandy (Chris) Dowd of Acworth, Georgia; great grandchildren: Cody (Laura Kelley) Hale and Griffin (Mykah) Hale; Liberty, Baeddan, Madison, Elle Richards and Payton Taylor all of Thurman, Ohio. She was also blessed by one great great granddaughter, Evelyn (Evie) Hale also of Thurman. In addition, two sisters survive: Carolyn Lewis and Marge Ervin, of Jackson, Ohio, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Richards, brothers, Robert and Dick Erwin and sisters, Catherine, Eleanor, and Charlene.

Louise was a long-standing member of Vega United Methodist Church, serving as Sunday School superintendent and teacher for many years. Louise was a member of the Centerville Eastern Star for many years and most recently with the Gallipolis Chapter 283. She served in many local and state capacities with the Easter Star. Louise worked tirelessly alongside her late husband, Dale, in the family owned business, Richards Brothers Fruit Farm, grading apples and serving customers.

Many thanks to the team of National Church Residences Hospice, the nurses and wonderful aides, the staff at Jenkins Memorial Nursing Facility where the aides and nurses took such loving care of her. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice.

Services will be held at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson, on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Calling hours will be observed from 12 to 2 with the funeral immediately following. Burial will follow at Vega Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
