Christine Elaine Nelson, age 57, of Jackson, Ohio passed away Monday, August 12th, 2019 at her residence after battling cancer. She was born February 21st, 1962 in McArthur, Ohio to the late Neal and Pauline (Cook) Kitchen.

Christine was a graduate of Vinton County High School. She obtained her master’s degree in Education and taught in Vinton Schools for thirty years. She attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church of Ray, Ohio.

She is survived by her daughter, Dominque Nelson (Elliott Perry Jr.) of Jackson, Ohio; grandchildren: Ashton Michael Mullins, Evan Perry, and Electra Perry; stepsons: Michael Jr. (Tammy) Nelson of Jackson, Ohio and Kevin (Tabatha) Nelson of Oak Hill, Ohio; adopted daughter, Danyelle Speakman of Holden Beach, NC and formerly of Jackson, Ohio; special friends who were loved like family, Kerry Rafferty and Robyn Eby; as well as numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael and sisters, Barbara Ann Kitchen and Juanita Dixon.

Christine enjoyed scrapbooking and Zumba. She valued life and adored her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 15th, 2019 from 4-8PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Additional calling hours will be held on Friday, August 16th, 2019 from 11-1PM with a 1PM funeral service following. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
