Verneta E. “Nedie” Dunn, age 92, of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away Sunday, May 20th, 2018 at Heartland of Jackson. She was born April 15th, 1926 in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Lester and Sarah Hazel (Janes) Howell.

She was a long-time member of Faith United Methodist Church in Oak Hill. She worked as a nurse’s aid at the Oak Hill Hospital and then at Jenkins Pharmacy until her retirement. She enjoyed baking, doing crafts, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, John Dunn of Oak Hill, Ohio; son-in-law, Don LeGrand of Oak Hill, Ohio; grandchildren: Kim (Stewart) Saunders of Westland, Michigan, Kelli (Scott) Schafer of Thompson, Ohio, Kendra (Kim) Strickland, Jason (Keri) Dunn, Rebecca Dunn, and Heather (Jeremy) Davis all of Oak Hill, Ohio; great-grandchildren: Lindsey (David) Butler, Jordan Saunders, Emily and Alyssa Schafer, Kyle and Kole Strickland, Grady and Griffin Dunn, Mariah and Khloe Evans, and Hannah, Kaiden, and Emma Davis; great-great grandchildren, Ethan and Lucy Butler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Dunn Jr.; daughter, Eileen LeGrand; brother, Thurman Howell; and sister, Theda Brisker.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 26th, 2018 from 11-1PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1PM. Burial will follow at C.M. Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.lewisgillum.com.
