Jerry Dean Stewart, age 63, of Jackson, passed away at his home after several years battling ALS on Friday, January 13, 2017. He was born April 8, 1953 in McArthur, Ohio to Phyllis (Graham) Stewart and the late William Stewart

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 42 years Cindy (Jones) Stewart, of Jackson; sons, Brad Stewart of Jackson and Shawn Stewart of Hilliard; two granddaughters, Whitney and Allison Stewart; siblings, Dale (Carolyn) Stewart, Randy Stewart, Tina (Jeff) King, all of Wellston. Brothers and sisters in law, Jerry and Jim Allie, Greg and Julie Fannin, Jerry and Jody Mullins; mother-in-law, Lou Jones and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends that he loved dearly.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law Gerald “Buddy” Jones.

Jerry graduated from Wellston High School in 1971, he worked 23 years in Coal Mining with the Stewart Coal Company and then starting in 1996 at the Atomic Plant until 2015. He was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, January 16, 2017 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with Pastor Jerry Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
