Larry Eugene Blanton, age 70, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Wednesday, January 4th, 2017 at his home. He was born October 11th, 1946 in Oak Hill, Ohio to Mildred (Jenkins) Hughes and the late Virgil Blanton.

He was survived by his wife, Phyllis (Lewis) Blanton of Springfield, Ohio; two sons, Darrell Blanton of Springfield, Ohio and Bruce (Rhonda) Blanton of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; aunt, Marie Hall of Oak Hill, Ohio; sisters: Linda (Jim) Adkins of Oak Hill, Ohio and Debbie (Carl) Hunt of Jackson, Ohio; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a step-father, Bill Hughes; maternal and paternal grandparents; and uncles: Bill Hall and Ray Jenkins.

Larry was a Veteran of the United States Army National Guard. He was also a member of the Eagles for over thirty-five years.

Graveside services with military honors will be held on Monday, January 9th, 2017 at 11:30 A.M. at Peniel Cemetery in Gallia County.
